After looking everywhere thinking I had lost the pictures for this easy DIY's I finally and very happily found them! Something got on me and all I wanted to do was "redo" things. So I went to my local hardware store, picked up some spray paints and headed home to make a mess. :D
I though spray painting was a no brainer and to my surprise I suck at it. :/ I began spray painting like my life depended on it {no joke} and obviously ended with a MESS! so I had to call for help, watched few videos and then finally I began to get it right. It turned out to be a very fun project but few things went wrong because am a very impatient person- I ruined few bases -
But I did not give up and now am a "master" at spray painting....well maybe not..
1- For this first DIY it is very self explanatory in the pictorial. All you need are pine cones from your backyard, some spray paint, and any container you would like to add a pop of color. I am loving yellow and light blue so I spray painted my pine cones yellow. I loved the finish product!
2-
- First you want to take some rubbing alcohol and a cloth and just wipe the outside of your base. This will give the spray paint something to attach to easily than slippery glass.
- So for the actual DIY all you need is : Metallic gold spray paint // blue painters tape // dollar store clear base.
- So wrap the tape around your base in the shape you want the gold to show. {Get creative} spray paint it little by little. I did a total of 4 thin coats allowing each to dry in between.
- Let base dry for 1-3 hours, remove tape carefully and vuala, you have a beautiful gold base that will add a sophisticated touch to any room. :)
